Returns And Refunds Policy
Last updated: 17 August 2026
At CashWorx, we want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases. This Returns & Refunds Policy explains when products purchased through our website may be returned, exchanged or refunded.
This policy must be read together with our Terms and Conditions and does not limit any rights that you may have under applicable South African consumer protection legislation.
1. 7-Day Cooling-Off Period for Online Purchases
Where applicable under South African law, you may cancel an eligible online purchase without giving a reason within 7 days from the date on which you receive the goods.
To exercise this right, you must notify CashWorx of your decision to cancel the purchase within the applicable 7-day period.
Unless otherwise required by law, the direct cost of returning the goods to CashWorx will be your responsibility.
Certain goods and transactions may be excluded from the statutory cooling-off period in accordance with applicable South African law.
2. Condition of Returned Products
For change-of-mind returns, products should be returned in substantially the same condition in which they were received, together with all accessories, components and packaging supplied with the product.
CashWorx reserves the right to inspect returned products before approving a refund or exchange, subject at all times to the consumer’s rights under applicable law.
3. Incorrect Products
If CashWorx supplies a product that is different from the product you ordered, please contact us as soon as reasonably possible.
Once the return has been verified, CashWorx will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include supplying the correct product or providing a refund, as required by applicable law.
Where the incorrect product was supplied by CashWorx, the customer will not be responsible for reasonable return costs where the law requires CashWorx to bear those costs.
4. Damaged or Defective Products
The 7-day cooling-off period does not replace your statutory rights relating to defective, unsafe or poor-quality goods.
Where goods fail to meet the standards required by the Consumer Protection Act, you may have rights to return the goods within the applicable statutory period.
In particular, qualifying defective or unsafe goods may be returned within 6 months after delivery, subject to the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act.
Depending on the circumstances and the requirements of applicable law, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement or refund.
5. Products That Cannot Be Returned
Certain products may not qualify for change-of-mind returns where an exclusion is permitted by law. These may include, depending on the nature of the product:
- products made or ordered to your specifications;
- personalised products;
- products which, by their nature, cannot reasonably be returned;
- products that deteriorate or expire rapidly;
- unsealed software, audio or video products where applicable; and
- other products or transactions excluded under applicable South African law.
This does not remove any rights you may have where goods are defective, unsafe, incorrectly supplied or otherwise fail to comply with applicable consumer protection legislation.
6. Refunds
Where a return and refund are approved, CashWorx will process the refund in accordance with applicable South African law.
Refunds will ordinarily be made using the original payment method, where reasonably possible.
Any delivery or return costs will be dealt with according to the reason for the return and the requirements of applicable law.
7. How to Request a Return
To request a return, please contact CashWorx through the contact details provided on our website.
Please provide:
- your name;
- order number;
- product being returned;
- reason for the return; and
- photographs or other supporting information where the product is damaged, defective or incorrectly supplied.
We may provide further instructions regarding the return of the product.
8. Inspection of Returned Products
CashWorx may inspect returned products to verify the condition of the goods and the reason for the return.
This inspection process will not limit or exclude any rights available to consumers under applicable South African law.
9. Statutory Consumer Rights
Nothing in this Returns & Refunds Policy is intended to exclude, restrict or modify any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded, restricted or modified under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008, the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, or any other applicable South African legislation.
Where this policy conflicts with a mandatory provision of applicable law, the applicable law will prevail.
